INFO FOR RESTAURANTS
THE DATEVINE brings like-minded single people to local restaurants for a night of great food, great conversation and the chance to meet someone special. With party numbers ranging from 8-20, there is a completely relaxed atmosphere, and because diners can bring friends along, it helps keep the nerves at bay.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. THE DATEVINE team organise a dinner party with a restaurant for between 8-20 people. All our events include either a 2-course set menu or banquet menu designed by the restaurant.
2. THE DATEVINE invites singles to buy tickets to the event. These tickets will cover the cost of the meal and our admin fees. Approximately $40-$100 per person, depending on the restaurant.
3. THE DATEVINE organises all the guests in the lead up to the event, and provides the restaurant with a guest list and pre-payment for the food.
4. On the night of the event the restaurant hosts the guests and serves the set menu, like any other table. Our diners will pay for drinks and any service fees on the night, directly to the restaurant.
5. After the event THE DATEVINE team will follow up with the guests and the restaurant to get any feedback and make another group booking.
BENEFITS FOR RESTAURANTS
Restaurants can take group bookings with THE DATEVINE during off peak times, as a way to fill the restaurant during quiet nights of the week. (Mid-week evenings are usually the best date nights)
Hosting DATEVINE events exposes restaurants to new, local clientele, increasing the likelihood of returning customers and word of mouth publicity.
We will promote restaurants on THE DATEVINE social media platforms and on the Eventbrite ticketing website in the lead up to the events.
A DATEVINE dinner is easy to host for restaurant staff given there is a set menu already paid for.
And if you'd like to speak to someone about hosting an event at your restaurant please contact email@example.com or call Keely Sonntag directly on +61 (0)410 020 632
THE DATEVINE - TIPS FOR GROUP DATING
TIP # 1 Bring a friend, this can help calm the nerves when you're meeting new people, BUT just remember not to spend the whole evening talking to your mates - otherwise you're missing the whole point.
TIP # 2 Make an effort with your appearance. You don't need to come in full red carpet regalia, but a little thought will go a long way.
TIP # 3 Come prepared to laugh and enjoy yourself. You don't have to entertain the masses, but you need to relax and have a good time.
TIP # 4 Engage with your fellow diners. Ask them questions and listen to their responses - good listening is the key to great conversations. And if you're a great conversationalist then people remember you.
TIP # 5 Remember your table manners. It's easy to slip into old habits, but little things like talking with your mouth full and interrupting other people can make a bad impression.
TIP # 6 When the mains come out we suggest you swap seats. You want to chat to everyone if possible, so feel free to move around as much as you like, as long as no one else minds.
TIP # 7 Don't get too drunk. It's great to have a few drinks with new friends, just be careful you don't over do it - or your new friends will be sending you home early in a taxi.
TIP # 8 Make sure you bring cash to pay for your drinks and cover a tip for the restaurant. It could get a little tiring at the end of the night if everyone wants to pay on card.
TIP # 9 Plan somewhere to go afterwards. You might all like a nightcap before you call it a night, so if you know the area and know any bars that will be open, you could win some serious brownie points with the table. (We'll send you some suggestions too).
TIP # 10 Don't be scared to ask for someone's number. THE DATEVINE is about making real connections, not messaging for weeks on an invisible app. Be bold and exchange details on the night. You've made the first move by being there, don't let the chance slip away.
